30 Day Challenge Ideas to Help You Change Your Life

Why Make a List of 30 Day Challenge Ideas?

This is a post about 30 day challenge ideas (in case you couldn’t tell by the title).  I had a stroke last year.  That stunk, but I’m not complaining.  It was a big wake up call for me.  It lit a fire under my butt.  Other people have suffered much greater losses after having a stroke.  Mostly, my stroke left me feeling kind of beat up and with some issues getting my right arm and hand to do what I want them to do.  I’ve also had some speech issues and lost a bit of my hearing, but I’m getting around OK and that’s a good thing.  I’ve been taking a new look at life lately.

Challenge Yourself for a Month

I like thirty day challenges because the time frame is short enough that you can usually push through them even when you start to hit resistance. The honest truth is that I’ve spent a lot of my life reading books about self improvement and generally looking for ways to improve myself.  The problem is, a lot of my ideas have either stayed just ideas or have completely faded from my memory before I took action and brought them into reality.  I guess you could say that my little cerebral accident opened my eyes to how things can change in the space of a few heartbeats.  I had been meaning to get around to starting a list like this, so here it is.  Started with a new sense of urgency that I didn’t have a year ago!  I spoke to a bunch of people I know and asked them what they thought they “should” do as a thirty day challenge.  I thought that might be a good way to start this list.  Here’s what we came up with…

Why Did I Write This 30 Day Challenge Post?

The goal and purpose of this post is twofold. It will be a list of cool things to learn, try, and do.  That’s the first thing.  The second purpose will be to actually serve as a record of my experiences as I take on each new skill, goal, task, etc.  I’m going to say up front that I don’t necessarily plan on trying everything on this list.  That’s where you can jump in if you are interested.  Feel free to make comments about challenges you have taken on, things you’ve learned, reasons why your procrastinate.  Whatever you want.

One of my first challenges was to make a post about why people should challenge themselves and push forward through resistance.  This site is a work in progress, but I DID get it started.  I hope you find something helpful here.  Please leave a comment and tell about what you plan on doing for the next 30 days!
